Winter is almost over and soon people of all ages look forward to start going out camping. Unless you're out for an afternoon only, you will need your sleeping bag with you. However unless you want to feel very uncomfortable during the night, you must have a bed with you as well, which will put a small distance between the sleeping bag and the ground.
There are various facts to take into account when buying your new bed for camping, including price, durability and your own comfort, of course. You also need to see how much space you will have left to pack your camping gear. The different types of camping beds you can get are camping cots, camping mats, foam and air mattresses and lawn chair pads. Each come with their own set of features and benefits that you need to be aware of.
Adjustable Mattress Frame
The camping cots can be folded and they have a thin foam mattress. You can actually consider one of these as being a regular bed with legs, so you are not actually sleeping on the floor. However you can't pack it easily in your trunck, particularly if you have more than one to take with you. Also if the persons who will sleep in the cot is relatively tall, he or she will have a comfort issue as these cots are made for rather shorter people.
The camping mats are quite light, compact and weather proof, however they are not as comfortable as the camping cots.They are actually sitting on the floor and can be rolled up when the sleep is over and they're relatively easy to carry. You can find them often in the camping sections of the DIY hardware stores.
Air mattresses are more comfortable but they can easily deflate. Make sure to have with you a repair kit in case this happens, else you will end up literally sleeping on the floor. This is quite a popular camping bed type. Foam mattresses are made of thicker foam which is cut to size. They are quite affordable, however when it comes to comfort they might not be the best choice. The foam mattress needs to be kept dry at all times which is no easy feat during camping.
Finally the lawn chair pads are also used at times for camping as they can be easily used as sleeping mattresses. Their price is usually higher than that of the other beds, but many people actually have them at home, so it won't take them much to simply bring them along during a camping trip.
